★★★☆☆ Honorable Mention
(Dystopia) Cinnamon doesn’t want a smart house. The conveniences aren’t worth being spied on by companies. But some salesmen just won’t take no for an answer. (7,548 words; Time: 25m)

Review: 2019.275 (A Word for Authors)
Pro: There’s a certain desperate humor in how anxious the sales team is to get Cinnamon to buy something. It’s nice that the puzzle of why her security let them in gets resolved.
Con: It feels like the setup for a longer story. The characters just barely get introduced and then abruptly the story is over.
