Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

Pro:  The writing is fine, and the plot is clean: Nina spends years preparing for the disaster that owl portends. In the end, when she saves Abby from the lightning strike, she succeeds.

Con: The story contains a lot of material it doesn’t use. Nina’s depression never figures into it; if anything, Nina comes across as manic. The long list of neighbors doesn’t figure into the story. The soil sample testing never amounts to anything. etc.

  1. Cute and fun -- liked the various neighbor reactions to her sudden safety campaign.
