Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: Helen’s steady pursuit of the truth drives the story, and it’s amusing that once she has all the facts, she decides she just wants to be a mom.
Con: Helen is such an awful character that it’s impossible to root for her. The bits at the end, where we learn she’s a billionaire and that she’ll keep the superpowers the baby gives her, are disbelief-breaking, taking us into Mary-Sue territory. That is, the author favors the character so much that suspension of disbelief fails.
