(Slipstream) Rather than killing the monster, Devon would rather negotiate with them and blog about it later. (5,706 words; Time: 19m)

Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: Devon succeeds in his quest to find his friend, and, true to himself, he does it without killing anything. Nate fails in his own quest, to restore Devon's hand, but we don't expect heroes to succeed in a story like this one.
The slipstream touches are funny, as you'd expect. My favorite was that Nate was still texting his girlfriend, even after weeks with the dragon--meaning the dragon not only has cellphone reception, he has a charger too.
Con: None of the characters is well-enough developed for us to care one way or the other about Devon's success. The plot is entertaining but simple.
