Look for RSR at MidAmeriCon II

We'll be attending MidAmeriCon II in Kansas City, MO next week, and we're looking forward to meeting some of the people we've been chatting with all year! We've printed up some Rocket Stack Rank ribbons for the occasion, and we'll be passing those out to anyone who asks for one.

Our tentative schedule is as follows:
  • All three "Stroll with the Stars" events: Fri, Sat, Sun 8:30a-9:30a
  • Seven "Magazine Group Readings": F&SF, Analog, Asimov's, Clarkesworld (Fri); Apex, Lightspeed (Sat), Uncanny (Sat)
  • Eight Short Fiction-related panels: Reviewing the Reviews, Chinese Science Fiction Moving Forward, Why I Write Short Stories, Editing and Crafting the Short Story (Thu); Trends in Magazine Publishing, The State of Short Fiction (Fri); Clarkesworld at Ten, Submitting the Short Story (Sat);
  • Six others: As You Know, Bob (Thu); Nifty Narrative Tricks (Fri); Editors: Not Just a Single Job (Sat); The Evolution of the Editor, Criticism in Speculative Fiction, Editing the Anthology (Sun)
  • The File770 "Premeet" (Tue) and Pubmeet (Thu).
This is tentative because of potential conflicts with the WSFS Business Meeting or simply because we got wrapped up in an interesting conversation.

We'll attend most events together, but you might also find us separately if there's an event conflict or if Greg is at a Kaffeeklatsch or Literary Beer. We'll each have some RSR ribbons to give out.

3 comments (may contain spoilers):

  1. I hope both of you will have a great time at MidAmericon II. With that long list of events, you are going to be busy.

    I would really like to meet both of you in person, but for me, going to Worldcon means flying overseas, so not this year.

    Good idea with the ribbon.

  2. We missed the Sat morning Stroll with the Stars by five minutes because Greg was wrapping up a 4-star review that needed just a few more minutes... Our apologies if any RSR fans were hoping to meet us on the walk. We'll be on-time for the Sun stroll. :-)
