In the Time of Love, by Amy Sterling Casil

The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, May/June 2015; 5,030 words
Rating: 2, Not recommended

A man wants to build a device to stop time--in a sense.

Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

The story has too many suspension-of-disbelief problems. The amplituhedron cannot be so easy to make or lots of other people would have made them. The time-stopping effect should have stopped the photons outside too--it should be dark through the windows. If it didn't stop a windup clock, it shouldn't stop a cell phone either. Separately, Daria's negative reaction and Cara's positive reaction are equally hard to credit.
