★★★☆☆ Nice Installment
(Lost Colony; Sanctuary) After Phillip and Crowe helped Pilot escape, they were thrown into jail. Even if they escape, they’ll have to leave Sanctuary entirely, and the blockade makes that almost impossible. (20,841 words; Time: 1h:09m)

You need to start reading this series with “Starship Mountain” to get the most out of it. The short story “Sanctuary” is helpful but not required.
"Escape from Sanctuary," by Allen M. Steele [bio] (edited by Sheila Williams), appeared in Asimov's Science Fiction issue 11-12|19, published on October 18, 2019 by Penny Publications.

Review: 2019.618 (A Word for Authors)
Pro: The story continues to be interesting, and I’m eager for the next installment. The setting is cool, and the characters are interesting.
Con: This fragment doesn’t even try to be a stand-alone story. Crowe has almost no agency in this part of the story: other people make all the decisions and he just helps them when he can.
