Pro: This is pretty obviously the tale of Thetis, mother of Achilles (aka Esau).
I thought it was cute how understanding she was of Esau’s boyfriend, Pistol (Patroclus). In the usual recounting of the Greek myth, their relationship seems to have been unremarkable.
Con: Although the story tries to make Thetis the focus, it really is true that Esau/Achilles is the only thing that makes her interesting. Even in this tale, she exists only until he’s dead, and then she departs as mysteriously as she arrived.
