Review: 2019.573 (A Word for Authors)
Pro: The story has some great moments, such as when Riley hunts down Max inside the game. The big twist is also well-played.
Con: Riley’s weakness makes it hard to root for her, and the ending makes the rest of the story seem like an exercise in futility.
More pointedly, Max seems to be so powerful that it’s difficult to believe it had any serious limitations by the point Riley went to confront Brian. That whole expedition seemed pointless.
