Review: 2019.000 (A Word for Authors)
Pro: There are a lot of great ingredients here: the underwater city itself, the genetically-modified amphibious humans, the threat to life, and the outsider boyfriend with a dangerous secret.
Con: It all just sort of fizzles at the end. Zo’s secret doesn’t amount to anything useful, and Murex just ends up doing what he’s planned to all along. A separate problem is that the undersea city and its people are absolutely perfect, with no moral or technical problems at all and having no use for the imperfect people on the land.
