Review: 2019.031 (A Word for Authors)

Pro: There’s a lot to like about Dreya. Even when she served the company, she put her people first. Even in these dark days, she can still earn their trust. It take a little child to snap her out of her torpor, but once she gets rolling, she’s everything they need her to be.

The finest moment is when she goes head to head against Mother and her own people’s faith in her gives her the strength to win.

And it ends in a nice place, with everyone making plans to build a future.

The world merits some mention. Here we have magic on an extraterrestrial world with something like Steampunk technology. A very interesting combination.

Con: Dreya is the only developed character.

It’s a very elaborate world, and this one story barely scratches the surface of it.
