Pro: It’s amusing that the Xlan use porn pictures to convince themselves Pauline is really female, and it’s nice that they thought they were protecting the kids.
Con: The human reaction to having our children abducted would be far more extreme that what’s described here.
Given that the Xlan knew people produce only one child at a time (usually) and that humans have a taboo about discussing mating, there is zero chance that they didn’t know humans don’t go through the same development process they do.
