Pro: The best part is probably the wild chase scene at the end.
Con: I realize the narration is meant to be in the style of someone telling a story to little children, but it really grated on me for some reason, popping me out of the story every paragraph or two.
It’s hard to root for Jack. I think he’s meant to be a lovable idiot, but he only manages the idiot part. Possibly I’d like him better if I’d read the earlier stories.
