Review: 2018.615 (A Word for Authors)

Pro: This is the story of how Hitoshi had one last adventure before ending his life in this world and moving to the virtual world. It’s touching (at least to me) because we know he’s really dying and only sending a copy of himself to the virtual world. He seems to know this too; he’s hesitated to do this for centuries, but for whatever reason, he’s tired now and ready to go. His last step is a leap of faith just as dramatic as that of any man of faith who ever died.

Con: It’s a rather bleak vision of the future. A universe that seems completely pointless where the only meaningful act he can perform is to kill himself.
