Review: 2018.506 (A Word for Authors)

Pro: Gina wants her freedom. She wants to be respected, wants the right tools to do her job, etc. but the recurring theme is that she wants her freedom. By the end of the story, she’s earned full access to the robot, and gained her freedom in the process.

The story does such a good job of making it clear just how important full access is that when Evie gives it to her, it’s deeply touching. Not just because she got it, but because she earned it.

Con: Gina deciding to let the robot kill someone seemed way out of character for her. That Bruno surviving the pounding seemed surprising, given what we knew of the robot.
