Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: Haru not only finds the motherlode of diamonds, he learns the crabs are at least semi-intelligent. It’s amusing that once he and Jahaira realize there must be a much larger, much stronger Martian life form, they both make every effort to repair the damage to the “shrine” they found.
Con: For someone who wants to study the crabs, Haru shows remarkably little concern at the way they’re being harvested. Once he has evidence they might be intelligent, he still doesn’t react with horror or revulsion.
Martian sandstorms can make it dark outside, but the air is so thin that a person standing in the middle of one would have a hard time feeling it.
