Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

Pro: The author tells the story of a future apocalypse by relating different episodes that occurred in the same house over the century between its construction in 1935 and its destruction by an airplane crash in 2040, when the old pilot is shot down and ironically dies in her old neighborhood.

Con: Nothing actually happens, and the result is very dull, even though it’s very short. Nor is it clear what sort of statement the different pieces are supposed to make. E.g. the young man in 1950 who failed the bar exam and is lying in the sun pretending to be part of a nude painting—what’s he doing here?
