Pro: Excellent narration and dialogue. Plenty of tension. Nice twist to learn that the “woman” is actually hidden inside Karsman himself.
The first chapter does a beautiful job of introducing the setting without any info dumps.
Con: Karsman makes way too little use of the personalities inside him. This business of having special abilities but persistently declining to use them gets annoying.
We expected tremendous things to happen if the intelligence were restarted, but at the end it seems that almost nothing has changed except that Karsman understands himself better.
