Pro: The enemy is defeated.

Con: Presumably this would all make sense if I’d read the first two books in the series. As it stands, it’s hard to follow. At the start, the Arat Kur seem to be invincible. I’d looked forward to learning how they’d be frustrated. But then, with no explanation at all, they’ve been soundly defeated and are on the run with even their homeworld in jeopardy.
