Pro: The outcome isn’t what we expected: we thought of her becoming a dragon or being rescued by dragons, but not turning into a sandstone statue of herself—even though the “turn to stone” motif is everywhere. Incredibly, this short little piece actually does have a plot: Annie wanted to escape, and she actually does.
Con: At this length, there’s no character development, so it’s hard to have strong feelings for any of the characters—Annie included.
