Review: 2017.617 (A Word for Authors)

Pro: The story’s main message seems to be about a teenage boy realizing that he has “unnatural” sexual desires and eventually making his peace with them. Contrast Captain Sai, who has similar desires but has let his self hate destroy him.

The account of how George’s three parents worry about him but end up having little effect is both comical and sad.

Con: The ending is rather unsatisfying. It feels as though there ought to be some resolution to all of this.

  1. An okay story of a teen discovering his sexuality with a family who doesn't understand, and an adult suppressing his because of societal pressure. But doesn't really do anything with those ideas.
