Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The story is open on the question of animal intelligence, and it does not presume to find an answer.
Con: There isn’t a story here at all. The scientist hides from animal-rights activists and then attends a conference. Brother Lawrence feeds his pig, decides this is a matter of faith, and becomes a vegetarian. That’s it.
