Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The mystery is solved, the “heart” is recovered and hidden securely, the pirate is killed, and Parrish earns Beatrice’s respect, so Royl gets to retire after all.
Con: It all seems too contrived. Why didn’t they just destroy the heart if they didn’t need to use it anymore? Why was Beatrice the only person in the world who could help them hide it?
Some of the solution comes out of nowhere. The vulture that turns out to be the pirate in disguise, for example.

Enjoyed reading another Stormwrack story. Different having it from the retiring captain's point-of-view. Still haven't checked out the books.
ReplyDeleteThey don't destroy the heart because it does keep the former pirates in check. I did suspect the vulture because the pirate had been described very bird-like.
