Pro: We gradually figure out that they're going to copy this young man's consciousness into a new body. The one writing the notes is going to die, and his copy will read those notes later.

The idea that the police would simply pay to reconstruct the black kids they killed is chilling. As is the thought that people might accept that.

Con: The narrator seems too accepting of his fate. He's way too calm about what's happening to him.
