Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
This “story” summarizes the plot of “The Story of Mahliya and Mauhub and the White-Footed Gazelle: It contains Strange and Marvellous Things” which is part of Tales of the Marvellous and News of the Strange, translated by Malcolm C. Lyons (Penguin Classics, 2014).
Other than a few cute bits (e.g. the observation that the prince must have had a foot fetish) it doesn’t seem to add very much to the original.
