Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The hunt for the poachers and the rescue of the girl has a reasonable amount of tension and excitement.
Con: Despite all the effort to introduce Gavin, he's pretty much a cipher. Sam is introduced and dropped as well. The story doesn't actually start until Gabby and Gavin are driving out to the park.
The bit at the end about needing to lie to the little girl was anticlimactic. Ultimately the real story was catching the poachers, and that was just too easy.
