Pro: It paints an interesting picture of post-collapse Madagascar and of the children who're just learning they don't have much of a future.
Con: The biggest problem is that the story has no plot. No one is attempting to do anything; events just happen.
The author appears to think that all gay people fit the "swishy" stereotype.
