Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: Kamanti escapes the ruin of her village, gives birth to her child, and learns that a "hooman" can be a good person. In the process, we come to care for all three of them. It's a fascinating beginning.
Con: The story ends abruptly with all the important issues unresolved. What happened to Kamanti's husband? What happened to the human girl's family? Why are humans fighting with her people? And what are the people in the floating city like?
