(Space Opera; Dune) People on Walgis are dying, but the Butlerian Jihad dictates that no advanced medicine may be used. (3,952 words; Time: 13m)
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Needs Improvement
The story was written to accompany Navigators of Dune.

Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Unnatural dialogue, as-you-know-Bob dialogue, suffocating narration. It has a bad habit of repeating itself as well.

You could have just said "it's Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson."
ReplyDeleteI try not to have expectations for a review based on the author(s) or the publisher. So I never say things like "This was disappointing for X" or "Much better than Y's last work" or "This is below the usual standards for publisher Z." My goal is to review every story on its own merits.
