Pro: The author does an excellent job of introducing the setting and the characters and gradually letting us know that Aunt Laine is on the moon, and that although the sisters took her money, they didn't really like her very much.
Con: Nothing happens. Further, it's difficult to believe that Laine would continue to send them money that they neither appreciated nor used responsibly.
