Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The descriptions of the skating are excellent, introducing a bit of tension into the story.
Con: It's impossible to take a story seriously that has a human/alien hybrid in it, but a more serious flaw is that this is just a fragment of a story. It reads like the first chapter of a novel and then it ends abruptly.
Several aspects of the writing are off. For example, when Cyndric doesn't want dinner with Jeremy, he worries that Jeremy will become disinterested. That's a very strange thing to say about someone you're seriously involved with.
