I can see what she was trying for here, but it just doesn't work. It's impossible to sustain disbelief for this. The Galactics cared so much about Earth's history and ecology that they restored things to their natural state. They even resurrected the old Greek priesthood. But they couldn't be bothered to check whether the Olympic Games were religious? And despite all their different races, no one every thought of athletic competitions?
