Pro: There's a good bit of tension as the survivors gather and we wonder what's going to happen.
Con: The time scale makes this really hard to believe; maybe 2125, but not just nine years from now. The political content is annoying and distraction, especially since it's delivered by the narrator in infodumps. The bad guys are 100% cardboard, and their dialogue is wooden.
