Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

The science and technology in this story are so bad that it's painful to read. You have a starship orbiting over the north pole of a planet. You have space as thick with debris as the asteroid belt in Empire Strikes Back. You have things "falling into" a planet's gravitational field. The author makes heavy use of the language of science but without seeming to make much effort to know what those words mean.

Setting that aside, there's little or no plot to this story; it's almost all infodump.
