Pro: Scott, the leader of the film team, is such a caricature of a Hollywood huckster than you have to laugh.

Con: Balgobin doesn't really do very much in this story. He doesn't even want the Hollywood guys there, and it never occurs to him to try to get real scientists to study it. He just gives up.
