Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The details of the feast are superb. The various sorts of magic--ranging from old European to Native American--are interesting. And there are plenty of laughs.
Con: This simply isn't a stand-alone work. There are far too many characters, and they're give much too little introduction. Even if you already read Small Wars, by the same author, you don't really have enough to figure out everything that's going on here.
There are a number of gross errors in the text. POV violations, narration of emotions, etc.
