Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

Pro: A fun story with an unexpected outcome. The description of the gnomes as small mechanisms is particularly vivid.

The three flashbacks are entertaining in their own rights, but give color to the various team members as well as to Ritter himself.

Con: The plot is simple, and there's no emotional involvement.

  1. This was fun and reminds me that I need to check out the Sin du Jour novellas.

  2. This was just about the only one of them that could actually stand alone; the rest are pretty much meant to be read in order. I thought it was a fun read, for the most part, but I found the ending disappointing.
