Pro: The fox-girl's pain is very real to us, as is the pain of her companions. We don't applaud their desire to become real criminals, but we suffer for them all the same. She wants a different life, and the story ends when she gets one.
Con: The exchange with Lotus Face is too easy. Merely climbing the tower doesn't feel adequate. And what was the price? Is the body dying? Supposedly it was older than the city.

I enjoyed the story until the too abrupt ending. What has the Fox gotten from the exchange? Why did Lotus Face want to do it? Is it temporary?
