Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: Nanne completes her quest, but, further, gets vital information to use against disease, which matters terribly to her. The clues that something must have prevented previous expeditions from returning were numerous. Nanne's being a scientist, of sorts, made the difference, in that Paul wasn't willing to let her die.
Another plus is that Henri genuinely loves his wife, despite his issues. The story is wonderful for making him a real, tortured soul and not a cardboard character.
Con: Nanne's failure to mourn Henri makes the story end on an off note. We've been prepared to expect her to care, but then she doesn't.
