Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
This is set in Benford's "Galactic Centre" universe. Sadly, it doesn't work very well in isolation.
Pro: The universe is well-developed, and the conflict between the humans and the mechs is well-described.
Con: Not a complete story. This is just a series of events affecting one particular group of humans.
The premise is depressing, the prospects are hopeless; not much fun to read.
