[Anthology]
★★★☆☆ Average

(African Fantasy) In this fantasy story, eleven-year-old Ababuo lives in modern-day Ghana. She's a "safe-journey" child, which means she has a magical power but also bears a curse. (4,300 words; Time: 14m)

Review: 2015.111 (A Word for Authors)

Pro: The story does a nice job of gradually revealing the power that Ababuo has. It does a great job of showing us just what a good person she is, and what a sacrifice she makes at the end.

Con: We're a bit confused as to what happened to the souls of the people Ababuo freed and what happened to her own soul. Did she cease to exist? Or is she hanging around waiting for the next Nantew yiye child to rescue?
