The Last Days of Dogger City, by Mjke Wood

Analog Science Fiction and Fact, April 2015; ~4,500 words
Rating: 1, Improvement Needed

Adventure story about a catastrophe on a near-future floating city off the coast of Europe.

Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

Pro: Despite it's problems, this still manages to be exciting at points.

Con: The story is a good illustration of why "show vs. tell" is so important for writers to master. The narrator editorializes just about every emotional response, and the dialogue isn't very good either.
