A high-school girl's abusive boyfriend comes back to school equipped with an anti-violence chip. No one understands how despite everything she still loves him.
Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The narration and dialogue are both smooth and natural. The story arc progresses from Michael's return to his rearrest and reaches a logical conclusion. We sympathize with the heroine for having a love that survives abuse, but we really honor her for being strong enough to call for help. The little pieces work well here. There's foreshadowing that the chips may not work perfectly.
Con: She seems to accept a lot of abuse before getting help. She seems rather cruel to both Michael and Darryl. In fact, it's hard to see what Darryl sees in her.

To me this story is kind of difficult to read knowing that in reality there are millions of women just like Anna but without this ‘chip’ benefit and even worse way past teenagers age…
