In a fairly near future, Audra visits the mid Pacific to watch how the ecosystem is evolving to incorporate plastics.

Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

There is a lot of editorializing and there are a lot of info dumps. There's some anticipation as we wait to figure out what it is that Audra and the others are waiting for, but it turns out it's only turtles laying eggs. Plastic eggs on plastic. There's a serious misconception here about how evolution works, and since that's the point of the story, there's not a lot else to say.
