Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)
Pro: The story does indeed read just as well backwards as forwards.
Con: There's so much about this story that breaks suspension of disbelief. The dissertation would be a heck of a stinker if the advisor was demanding he change it. The demo with the rat would have been enough by itself to make national news.
Beyond that, the dialogue is unnatural, and the narration repeatedly tells what it should show.
