Pro: Adrianne is a sympathetic character, and we enjoy watching her operate. Anyone who's ever written a blog is bound to get a kick out of watching someone whose blog posts really do change the world.
Con: The interactions with her son fall flat--we don't feel sorry for her, we don't even feel anger or hatred for him. The reader is kept at arm's length throughout the whole story.
