Mini-Review (click to view--possible spoilers)

The author masters the technique of telling us just enough about his world at just the right time. It moves along nicely, and we never feel overwhelmed with info dumps.

The ending feeling contrived, though. We've had no foreshadowing that there's a kill-everyone cult--much less a group of friendly aliens who just needed us to call for help.
