The buildup to the sexual encounter is well done. The author manages to make the Endos and Exos seem very alien and yet manages to make the sexual encounter exciting, not gross.
It's hard to see why human beings had to be modified this much. Or how you could justify "recycling" someone just because he/she had become obsolete.
