  1. Thank you for the reminder! I've got mine, and I plan to go in person to the San Jose event next year!

  2. So I am having a problem with best related works. I only have one to nominate where as last year I had 4. Will you be making recommendations?

    1. RSR does not review related works so we won't have recommendations. Locus Magazine's recommended reading list just came out and has a section for non-fiction that would probably count for the related works category.

    2. A couple other places to look for recs for all categories:

  3. Greg -- I'm not always sure how you parse my recommendations -- 4 versus 5, that is. At any rate, I wanted to note that (as my post on novella Hugo recommendations makes clear, I trust) "The Dream-Quest of Vellit Boe" is pretty much my favorite novella of the year (with "The Vanishing Kind" really the only other contender). It's not in my Best of the Year anthology simply due to length.

(If you care, upcoming issues of Locus will add recommendations for the likes of "The Iron Tactician".)

    1. Hi Rich, this is Eric of RSR. I parse reviewer recommendations as described in the Q&A for Recommended By. I do consider other things besides the reviewer's "year's best" anthology such as JStrahan's "best short novel" list on his blog or your comment. As such, I've updated the Vellitt Boe review and it's place in our 2017 Hugo Awards reading list.

    2. I've added this update to the 2017 Hugo Awards page.
Update 2/5/17: Updated RHorton's Novella & Novelette recommendations which were too long to fit into his year's best SF/F anthology.
